Crystals are not regularly shaped. They are irregular having hexahedron or octahedron. So the identification of a mineral based on shape is very complicated. Rock crystals it is stated ‘those that have a pointy tip will increase success.’ Cubic zirconia is a diamond imitation and has been around since the 1970′s. Then comes synthetic moissanite a silicon carbon and is considered a great diamond imitation. Swarovski elements (molten glass) were created by Daniel Swarovski from Austria and continue to be a strong element for designers even after 113 years!! I use a lot of these elements as they add so much sparkle at a reasonable price! These elements are machine cut and polished and are flawless in consistency.
